To you is the word of this salvation sent. Acts 13:26b
Who is the “you” in this statement? Could it be anybody and everybody everywhere? Paul was preaching to the Jews (vs 26). Paul calls out to the rulers and to all that dwelt in Jerusalem (vs 27-28). He says that Jesus is the Redeemer the prophets wrote of, and He arose from the grave as they had prophesied (vs 29-31). Even though it was these who were responsible for the crucifixion of the Redeemer, Paul had a message of “glad tidings” (vs 32). In vs 38, Paul says, “unto you”, is preached the forgiveness of sins! In vs 39, he says, “all that believe are justified”.
Who is the “you”? According to vs 28, it was those who had Him slain; those who

applauded, insulted, laughed and sneered as the crown of thorns was place upon His head and watched as the blood flowed from His brow. Paul says it was for “you”! Believe on the crucified Redeemer and “you” shall receive a crown of life!
The Jewish people, as a great majority, rejected the gospel, and in vs 46, Paul turned to the Gentiles and brought the good news of forgiveness! To the Roman soldier (Gentile) who rushed to the cross and ran his sword into the heart of the Redeemer, he can know that there is another way to get to His heart. He, too, can hear the gospel, have the Holy Spirit prick his heart, and be forgiven and come to love and trust the Savior!
To those who upheld the crucifixion, and those who partook in it, there is forgiveness!
What about “you”? Are “you” too terrible of a person whom the Redeemer cannot or will not forgive “you”? I believe that He has forgiven much worse!
The only ones who weren’t forgiven were the ones who didn’t want to be forgiven (vs 46).
What about “you”?
