For the wages of sin in death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
A worldwide economy would collapse within a few days if no one received wages.
You get up early, go out into the cold, hot, rain, etc., and for the next several hours, do the same thing over and over again. The reason some get to do what they do, and some have to do what they do, is because payday is just around the bend. We need houses, clothes, food, etc., so we get up the next week and start all over again.

Have you ever thought about how the devil (knows the drill), and he also pays people to work for him? The Bible says there is enjoyment in “the pleasure of sin” (Hebrews 11:25), but it’s only “for a season”! He pays with good times, fulfilling fleshly desires, and promising that more good times are coming (Ephesians 2:1-3). The last check received according to Romans 6:23, is death: not just dying, but dying apart from God!
I’m thankful there is an alternative to Satan’s wages! As stated in this verse, there is a gift from God! This gift that God offers us isn’t something we earned like wages, but is given through His grace and mercy.
We who become sick of sin, and satisfied that His Son made forgiveness and eternal life possible, have believed and turned from sin unto the Savior. All must realize that they will one day reap the wages of sin (death), or they can receive the gift of God through His Son (eternal life).
If you haven’t stopped working for Satan and started worshipping God, I would plead with you to receive God’s gift this Christmas season and know the joy that will last forever!
There is pleasure in sin, but joy unspeakable in God’s gift.
