If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee.
Deuteronomy 30:4

In verse one of this chapter, God tells Israel to remember how they had been blessed, and

Sunset over a field with tracks in the distance

also why they would be cursed. In verse two, He says to repent when they are experiencing the curses or judgments because of disobedience, and to return to God. Verse three says true repentance brings forgiveness and regathering of God’s people.

But what about those who were taken captive by the enemy and were hundreds of miles away? God says He was able to bring them back as well! Not only did God make that promise, but He also carried it out in future readings of Israel’s history in the Old Testament!

I believe that God is saying to sinners today that you haven’t gone too far for Him to be able to save! When He begins to work in your mind, and to deal with your heart about salvation, you should leave the old life behind and come to Him and receive new life in Christ through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son. When God is dealing with you, He is willing to “fetch” you out of sin and bring you unto Him.

If you are a believer, having been saved by grace through faith in His Son, but you have wandered far from God, and He is dealing with your heart, He is willing to bring you back unto Himself.

Don’t waste another day in sin and outside of fellowship with God while He is willing to “fetch” you and bring you back into the fold.

How far is too far? Only God and you can determine that!
