This was not the first time that God had appeared unto Abraham. There were other times between Genesis 12 and 18 that we are told of the Lord’s appearance. But in Genesis 18, this brings about a memory in my mind of the time the Lord passed by my way!

In vs 1, He appeared to me. He made me aware of His presence and who I really was.
In vs 2, when I saw Him, I did not desire that He would leave, but rather I bowed my heart to Him in belief.
In vs 3, I confessed that He was “my Lord”, and I now desired to have fellowship with the One who in times past, I had pushed away.
In vs 4 - 5, I had a new desire to wait upon the Lord and to serve Him.
In vs 6, I was willing to tell others of this gracious Visitor and share my desire to honor Him.
In vs 7, I had a desire for others to know the Lord and the joy it brings to serve Him.

In vs 8 - 15, because of Him, I, who had been unfruitful in spiritual things, can now bring forth fruit unto eternal life by sowing the gospel seed.
In vs 16 - 17, I have been guided in life by the Lord helping me to know the way I should take and the things that I should do.

I want to encourage you to read Genesis 18:1-17 and see if you can remember how it felt, and what it was like the day Jesus passed by your way.

He’s still passing by!
