As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Psalm 17:15
One of the great privileges that the Psalmist had was to be a part of the nation of Israel. He has been aware all his life to the truth of the one true God, and how that God had redeemed his people from bondage, and made a tremendous covenant with them to make them great and to be a witness to all other nations. The Psalmist has gone farther in his knowledge of God and, by his words, he knows God intimately. God is not something to the Psalmist, but Someone, and Someone worthy of devoting his life unto.
In vs 14, many of his own countrymen who have had the same opportunities the Psalmist had, were not with God as he was. They were living for worldly pleasures and desires, and laying up much for their families, and will die with little or no thought about standing before God.

Today, we have been privileged to live in a nation that was established on godly principles, and religious freedom has stood for 250 years. We, too, today have so many people who care not to seek the things of God, but to live for the here and now. But down through the years, multitudes have taken advantage of our national privileges and have come to trust and live by faith in our one true God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Notice the Psalmist’s three “I’s”…
I will behold thy face in righteousness
I shall be satisfied
When I awake with thy likeness
Through the preaching of the gospel in our nation, I have experienced salvation through Christ. I have been blessed through this wonderful experience. And, one day, I will see Him!
I’m thankful to be an American!
I’m blessed to be a Christian!
